FAQ's About Guitar Lessons

Should I start with acoustic or electric guitar?

You should start with whichever you want to play. If you want to shred guitar solos like Jimi Hendrix, you may not enjoy playing acoustic. If you want to accompany yourself singing some Joni Mitchell songs, you may feel out of place with an electric.

What do I need to bring to my lessons?

You need to bring your guitar, maybe a pick, and questions. We'll take care of any amplification you may or may not need.

Do I need to already have a musical background?

Just the passion to learn, your teacher has the experience to take you wherever you wish on your musical journey.

Jarred

Always an avid music lover, Jarred picked up his first instrument at 10 years old, the alto saxophone. Taking on the guitar at 13 years old, Jarred was something of a late bloomer on the instrument, not really hitting his stride until 19. Fueled by a new found love of blues, jazz, country, and funk, Jarred started honing his craft with friends, eventually forming his own bands throughout the years. Living his own dream, Jarred started playing local venues and festivals. While still performing regularly, Jarred makes time to share his passion and knowledge through teaching.

Specializing in slide guitar and improvising, Jarred prefers an ear based approach and making sure everything is played with feeling. Tailoring the curriculum around the interests of the student, Jarred makes sure his students not only improve their skills, but enjoy the process of it. Jarred is available for teaching all ages and skill levels and is excited to help you on your guitar journey!
